Meet Holly, Our Fitness Director
Biography: I am very fortunate to call Portland home, and feel lucky to have lived here my whole life. Our surrounding bike routes, hiking trails, and beautiful waterfront, allows us all to stay active in many different ways. Today fitness is a part of my daily life, but I didn’t always have a passion for it. My adolescent years found me sedentary and overweight. I am thankful I found the internal motivation needed to make the positive changes that led to me where I am today! I am a lover of all things fitness related that get our bodies moving. I truly enjoy challenging my body and always enjoy learning new ways to be active. On my days off you’ll find me jogging with my dog, reading a good book, and enjoying time with my husband, family, and friends.
Philosophy: As your Fitness Director my main goal is to provide our members with state of the art fitness programming and top notch trainers. I strive daily to provide exciting progressive fitness classes and to have the best fitness team in the North West! My team and I believe when you know better you do better. As we move through life we learn we have the ability to make daily choices that define who we are as a whole. Living a ‘healthy lifestyle’ is when you achieve that fine balance between doing what you love and knowing what you should be doing to care for yourself. I always look forward to connecting with our members and will continue to stay on top of industry trends and standards, keeping Mountain Park and West Hills the best places in the North West to work out!

I have been personal training and teaching group exercise classes at West Hills Racquet and Fitness Club for 16 years and I am in charge of the Healthy Heart for Life (Cardiac Wellness) program at West Hills.

Whether you are just returning to exercise after recovering from an injury or a sedentary person who is trying to find more energy and strength for your everyday life, I am here to help you move toward a more balanced, healthier and active lifestyle.
Three things I live by:
1) Everything in moderation, including exercise and diet.
2) Use It or Lose It; as we age we must stay strong and active.
3) Happiness is not something readymade; Happiness comes from our own Actions. Making good lifestyle choices ensure you are happy and healthy for the long run.

Meet Isaiah Howard-Cox...
Biography:
My name is Isaiah Howard-Cox. I was born and raised in Portland, Oregon and grew up coming to West Hills every morning with my mom who was director of Child Care and Kids Kamp. I had so many fond memories of West Hills that as soon as I got into training I knew it was where I wanted to be. I started playing sports at a young age, following in the footsteps of my sister. I played basketball, soccer, and baseball, until high school when I discovered my love for track. I had the opportunity to go State my freshman year and due to injuries in future years I wasn’t able to compete any longer. After I graduated I became a coach at the high school I went to and competed at. It was then I realized I wanted to get into training to make the athletes I was working with stronger and less prone to injuries. I went through the Exercise Science program at PCC and got the knowledge and experience I needed to blossom as a trainer.
Philosophy:
I believe that everyone has the ability to better themselves in some way, shape or form! Exercise doesn’t just help you physically but mentally as well. Seeing progress throughout the journey of training and finding new muscles that you didn’t even know were there is an exciting journey for both clients and trainers. I want to see you succeed and be right beside you on the ride. My training style is a lot of old school free weights for strength, power and hypertrophy, but I also cater to each individual client based on their personal goals! I look forward to working with you while we help you reach all your fitness objectives.
